About the Ohio Certified Public Manager® (OCPM) Program
The Ohio Certified Public Manager® (OCPM) Program is a prestigious, nationally accredited professional development initiative designed for state and local government leaders. Administered by Cleveland State University's Center for Public & Nonprofit Management, this program offers the official CPM certification for the state of Ohio.

Program Curriculum

To earn the OCPM credential, participants have successfully completed two cornerstone programs: the Public Management Academy and the Leadership Academy.

Public Management Academy

This intensive, one-year program equips managers with advanced supervisory and management skills. Participants engage in 19 customized workshops and complete a capstone project that applies their learning in real-world settings.


Leadership Academy

Recognized as the region’s premier leadership development program for public sector professionals, the Leadership Academy features dynamic modules on:

  • Leadership styles

  • Change management

  • Multigenerational workplaces

  • Power and persuasion

  • Knowledge transfer

  • Strategic planning

  • Crisis communications

Leadership Academy Regional Partners

As of 2023, Ohio University delivers the Leadership Academy in Central Ohio through the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service, located in Dublin, Ohio.
